Golf Tourism launches Pennines Golf Trail

If you were asked to name famous Golf Courses in the UK, Gleneagles could be a name that springs to mind, but would you think of the Pennines as having a golf course? Probably not but that is all about to change because my dear golfing companions The Pennines Golf Trail has come into being to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pennine Way.

Five courses lay on other side of the Pennines which means Yorkshire and Lancashire, both locations are renowned world - wide for the spectacular scenery, hospitality and of course home cooked food, whether it be served at the local pub or a posh hotel.  Golfing is a holiday in its own rights for our own countrymen as well as our oversees guests, walking is a holiday for many folk also, so to combine the both is excellent planning.

The courses are Clitheroe, Woodsome Hall, Huddersfield, Manchester and Pleasington Golf Clubs, to play the five will take you a week, a week of wonderful scenery, fresh country air and the friendship of your companions and hosts along the way.  The beautiful Ribble Valley is close to Clitheroe and the other courses have their own places of interest to visit whilst in the area.

Every green offers the players a challenging game, every green is playable all year round thanks to the drainage system and the variety of textures upon which you will play, natural heathland, wonderful turf and when you play on the Huddersfield course, you will be following in famous footsteps no doubt as it has hosted many top events and it has been mentioned in the Golfing Magazines.

For the outdoor type of person who loves good walks, a good game of golf, great scenery, The Pennines Trail is one you just surely need to follow.
