The Museum is in a tranquil and picturesque location at Stalham Staithe. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Enjoy a River trip on a Falcon a Victorian Steam Launch. She is an open boat so waterproof clothing may be advisable. Life jackets are available for all passengers.

We look forward to welcoming you to our unique and tranquil riverside setting. The Museum has four buildings: the Wherry Building, the Marshman's Building, Origins and the Boat Shed.

Outside in Friends' Way are some of our boats and our steam launch, Falcon, is moored on our quayside. The displays represent life in the area from early settlements when Norwich was England's second city, to Victorian times when wherries carried cargo throughout the Broads, to the coming of the railways, the development of the tourist industry, and the upheavals brought by war and twentieth century development. We look at the work of marsh men, boat builders, boat owners, pioneers, authors, naturalists, scientists and local eccentrics.
