Bottoms Up! for the 3rd Norwich City of Ale Festival

Norwich is about to launch the City of Ale festival for the third year running and organisers have planned to hold the opening ceremony on the 23rd May at St Gregory's Church in the City. The event will close on the 1st June and hopes to encourage more trade for local pubs and clubs.

The aim of the event is to bring local pubs and hostelries in Norwich to the fore and hopefully increase awareness of what is on offer to visiting customers. The Wolf Brewery is producing a new ale in an effort to raise much needed funds for the 70th Anniversary Norwich Veterans trip to Normandy, and has been running a competition for naming the brew. The chosen name is Monty's Gamble and the competition winner will receive a pair of tickets to the opening party of the festival as well as eighteen pints of the amber nectar to enjoy. It is hoped that sales of the ale will be a great success and this will also help local producers and growers. The Love Your Local Campaign is also running and hopes to encourage people back into the pubs, and with free tickets to launch night on offer from the organisers for completing a caption it promises to be a great event. Ticket price includes two pints of ale, a meal and free entertainment on the evening at a choice of venues.
