Cafes & Tea Rooms

One of the real delights of traveling through the traditional English countryside is stopping, by chance at a lovely little tea room and sampling a freshly made cake and a refreshing drink. Norfolk has many such places to tempt the weary traveler and send them, rejuvenated, on their way. Probably one of the prettiest tea rooms in Britain can be found in Ludham. The Alfresco is a country cottage thatched little place and is absolutely typical of the smaller tearoom. Some of these places are tucked away in yards and around corners and that just adds to the delight in finding them.

Norfolk is full of cafes and tearooms both ancient and modern. Holt village has one of the oldest, predating the great fire of 1708. Full of character, this was an old ironmongery shop before being converted to a café and is a great place to enjoy a coffee and just enjoy the village.
