Riding a horse allows you the time, space and non-invasive opportunity to really integrate with the Norfolk wildlife and observe nature at its very best. You can ride for miles along the sands and safely gallop without another soul around.

Norfolk has many dedicated trails specially designed for horse and rider, ranging from just a few miles to really long adventures and they are all signed and well maintained.

Some places in Norfolk offer full horse riding holidays. A base to stay and either bring your own horse or ride one supplied for the day. Thetford Forrest has a number of trails to follow with varying degrees of difficulty.

Norfolk is host to a number of world class equestrian events throughout the year including the Burnham Market International event and Houghton International Horse Trials.
