It is harder to think of a better location for hours of easy cycling that in Norfolk, it is so flat. Even better, there are many cycle friendly accommodation centres that are the perfect way to explore the area. Norfolk has many defined cycle trails that follow a theme and come complete with a map.

One of these is called Nelson's Norfolk. Admiral Lord Nelson was born in 1758 in Burnham Thorpe and this 29 mile circular route both begins and ends in Fakenham and takes in both Burnham Thorpe and Holkham Hall, a great Palladian mansion open to the public and scene of many film and TV shoots.

Fancy a go at National Cycle Route 1? Set in Norfolk, this 370 mile journey contains some challenging off-road content and has ever changing views. Marriott's Way is one of the longest (26 miles) traffic free routes in the country and great for kids.

Thetford Forrest Park is an area of pine, heath and broadleaf woodland with off road cycle trails graded from green (easy and for all the family) through to black (11 miles and difficult).
